Philips Hue, a company known for their color-changing lightbulbs, has recently released two new products in their Philips Hue line: Philips Hue White and Philips Hue White Ambiance. So, what’s the difference? And which one is right for you? While Philips Hue is a great smart lighting company, its product line can be confusing to browse.

Philips Hue white bulbs offer a wide array of smart features and capabilities. It comes in 800, 1100 or 1600 lumens with only one shade – soft white light- that emit at 2700K color temperature (like standard warm whites). You can’t make it warmer/cooler but does dim using Bluetooth Bridge app when connected to your home’s Wi-Fi network.

Hue White Ambiance is the perfect way to have cooler white lights in your home.

It isn’t just about dimming or brightening any old light, it has so many more options that are designed for specific activities!

Whether you want warmer tones when reading at night, softer lighting during breakfast time with friends (perfect if they’re staying over), or an elegant atmosphere. This smart bulb does everything we could ever ask from them and then some.

The main thing about Philips Hue White Ambiance

The Philips Hue White Ambiance offers a versatile range of brightness options from 800 to 6500K, often at twice the price. Users love it because this smart light bulb can be used in any situation and still produce great results without getting too bright or producing an unusual color tone like some competitors’ bulbs do when they go past 3000 K.

We found that there are two ways you could use your new favorite appliance: either by issuing voice commands using one of many accessories paired up with a Bridge device (like those made by Siri), inside the smartphone app itself onto a mobile device running iOS 11+ or Android 7+.

The Hue White Ambiance has 50,000 shades to choose from. You can have any type and color of lighting that your heart desires with just one tap! Whether you want a warm atmosphere or a cool contemporary look- there’s an option for everyone here on this list:

  • Concentrate (perfect when trying hard);
  • Energize (good at morning activities);
  • Read & Relax lights which are great during relaxation time.

Philips Hue White is a great choice for those who are looking for a versatile and affordable smart light bulb. It offers a wide array of features and capabilities, including the ability to dim the light and change the color temperature.

Philips Hue White Ambiance is a great choice for those who are looking for a smart light bulb that can be used in any situation and still produce great results.

It offers 50,000 shades to choose from, making it a great choice for those who want a versatile smart light bulb. Now let’s compare these two options in more detail.

Color Temperature and Color

Hue’s white bulbs produce one color: whiter than pure daylight. Okay, that might sound a bit obvious, but we need to point it out anyways since many people are unaware of what these lights can do or how they work!

You’ll never be able to change the bulb settings on your Philips HueA19 domestics – only 2700K “warm-white” is offered which makes sense as night time lighting source for those looking into painting their home with warm tones from floor lamps all way up high where you don’t really see any illumination outside anyway other then stars sparkling across outer space.

Hue’s White Ambiance range allows you to change the “color temperature” of your white color, which is a fancy way of saying that you can go from bluey-white along to yellow – and everything in between.

Instead of the standard wheels, we have some pre-set scenes allowing users easily change colors without having too much difficulty using their voice or app! This makes hue bulbs feel smarter because not only do they let us dim them but also turn them On/Off remotely.

Hue’s White and Ambiance lights offer a variety of different colors to choose from, but there is a downside. One light will warm your home with its natural warmth while the other can change between shades for your convenience – at least until it becomes too expensive!

You might also want to consider what features are most important for your needs. The ambiance model has more options, which means it will cost you a bit extra.

However, this is not too much if all that’s necessary from these lights are just brightness changes (which could be done with one of the white models).

Pairing Options

Hue white and ambiance bulbs are two separate parts that work with the same hub. They each pair to their own bridge, but they both offer similar features, so you’ll be able get started quickly regardless of which type (or color) suits your needs best!

Both also have compatibility issues when paired through HomeKit – meaning these lights should function smoothly without any problems using Siri or Alexa alike.

Philips Hue App

The Philips Hue app is necessary to set up and control your lights. It’s available for free on the App Store and Google Play. The app is simple and easy to use, but it lacks some of the features that are available on other smart lighting platforms.

If you’re looking for a Philips Hue white light bulb, we recommend the Philips Hue White A19 E26 Bulb. If you’re looking for a Philips Hue white light bulb with adjustable color temperature, we recommend the Philips Hue White Ambiance A19 E26 Bulb.

Philips Hue White vs White Ambiance: What Do Users Think?

One of the most valuable pieces of information is user experience. Therefore, we have collected for you some useful reviews from users who had the opportunity to use Philips lamps. This will allow you to make the right choice.

John D.
After swapping out all of the standard white light bulbs in his home for colored versions, John quickly realized that not much had changed. The only difference he could see was that the ‘nightlight’ scene on the bulbs was more orange-ish than before.

John wasn’t one to shy away from change, so he decided to experiment with different colors in different areas of his home. He found that using colors on the landscaping lights created a warm and inviting atmosphere while using them inside made his home feel like a Swedish nightclub.

Ashley Glenn
I love my Philips Hue bulbs. I have them in both my living room and bedroom, and they make such a big difference in the atmosphere of the room. Not only are they more practical and useful than traditional light bulbs, but they’re also much cheaper. We rarely use the colors unless we’re bored and toying around, maybe watching a movie. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made!

Mosley
I know that a lot of people prefer warm light from LEDs, but to me, it just doesn’t look as good as the full-color spectrum. I find that in the warmest settings, the light can look a bit… brown, even olive-ish in some contexts. If you’ve seen it next to a full-color bulb, it doesn’t look as satisfying at those extra warm settings. I find that the warm shade is far more delicious if you rather pick an amber shade from the full-color gamut. As an evening light, I prefer that because it’s more like a glow, it’s zesty.
