The honeywell wifi thermostat is an older model of a smartthings compatible thermostat. The Honeywell Smart Wi-Fi Thermostats allow you to control the temperature and cooling from anywhere with your smartphone or tablet, as long as it has internet access.
To add this type of thermostat to smartthings: open up the ST app on your phone/tablet (or go online) select “Add Device”. Then choose “Thermostats” –> HONEYWELL WIRELESS THERMOSTAT SMARTTHINGS VENTILATOR OR HEATER –> Type in serial number found near bottom left corner on backside of unit –> Click Next > Choose room name where device will be installed –> Click Next > Type in your wifi password (the one you use to connect to internet) –> Click Next >Confirm thermostat is set up correctly on the next page.

To setup honeywell wifi thermostat with smartthings: Go to the “Home” screen and tap on “+ Add a Thing.” Select the type of device as Thermostats, then choose HONEYWELL WIRELESS THERMOSTAT SMARTTHINGS VENTILATOR OR HEATER. Type in serial number found near bottom left corner on backside of unit (or use QR code from packaging). Choose room name where device will be installed. Then enter your wifi password (the one you use to connect to internet) Lastly, confirm that everything is set up correctly by tapping NEXT button at bottom right side of window.
One more thing – If you do not have Honeywell list your brand’s thermostat as a smartthings compatible device, you can also use the “Other” option or go to the Honeywell website and follow instructions for pairing.

– Check to ensure your ST account has the most up-to-date firmware by opening the app, tapping on “My Home,” selecting the Settings icon (three horizontal dots) in upper right corner –> Tap Device Support –> Tap Firmware Updates. If there is an update available for your device, it will be listed at top of screen. Follow instructions on how to download and install this update
– Double check that serial number found on backside of unit matches what’s provided during setup process
– Ensure Honeywell WiFI Thermostat SmartThings Ventilator or Heater was selected from list when originally adding device to account”.
